Do you have a Smart Meter?
If you know you have a smart meter, I recommend you call your energy company and ask the following questions:
- Is the signal transmitted wirelessly or through a wire?
- If wired, you’re done!
- If wirelessly, how frequently is the signal transmitted? You may not be able to get an answer to this question right away. Ask to speak to a supervisor or call back until you get an answer.
- Ask what your opt-out options are. If you can opt-out, I recommend you do so. You will be asked why. I simply stated “For personal reasons” and left it at that.
What if I can’t opt out?
I can tell you that when the smart meter was installed I experienced an intense, throbbing headache, an inability to think clearly, and very low energy. Once I had the proper shielding material in place I felt better within 45 minutes! I was back to my perky self!
