Smart Meter FAQs:
1). What can I do to reduce my EMF exposure if a Smart Meter has already been installed?
-If possible, see if you can install a metal shield behind the wall where the smart meter is located. In a pinch, wrap your smart meter in 12 layers of tin foil. Twelve layers has shown to be what is required to dampen the transmitted signal.
2). I live in an apartment building. What should I be asking my building superintendent about the smart meters in the building? Is there anything I can do about it if it is already installed?
-Take a look at the following questions you can ask your apartment superintendent if your building has smart meters or analog meters.
- Where are the smart meters located? Near your apartment or far away?
- How often is the signal transmitted? Call your energy company and request this information yourself. Every 30 days? Not so bad! Every 30 seconds? Action is required.
- If the signal is transmitted frequently, is it possible to have the complex opt-out? (Hey, worth a shot!)
- If the smart meter is installed, what material is behind the it? Can the superintendent put a metal shield on the wall behind the meters? This is not expensive, so it’s a viable option. Our recommended shielding material will be on the market soon, but in the mean time wrap the meter in 12 layers of tin foil, making sure to get behind the meter. Alternatively, if that option is not available, you can shield the wall behind the meter.
Dirty Electricity FAQs:
1). What is Dirty Electricity?
-Dirty electricity is high frequency voltage transient that rides on your building’s or home’s wires creating countless health risks. You can think of this as excess energy coming from our grid system into your home and leaking out into the environment. The amount of dirty electricity in each home varies, but can be easily tested using the recommendations below. Check out this research to find out more.
Reducing Your EMF and Dirty Electricity Exposure:
1). Do you have any advice for reducing the EMF load at work??
-Reduce Wifi usage as much as possible.
-Try to have major electronics as far from your work space as possible.
-Aim to be away from any electrical panels or transformers, the wifi router, server, etc, and if possible, shield these things with heavy duty aluminum foil.
2). Is it ok to plug in grounding mats if I have no outlet filters (STETZERiZER Filters) in place to reduce dirty electricity?
-If you plug in a grounding mat and you do NOT have filters in place, then you are potentially allowing the dirty electric current to flow through the grounding material and through your body. Dr. Libby has tested this using a Fluke 189 connected to EEG pads on her body, and was able to measure the current flowing through her body when she used any type of grounding pad. Unless you get filters in place, feel free to use the grounding material unplugged, as it works similar to the aluminum foil method mentioned above. This means that if you DO have filters in place, you can go ahead and plug in any grounding device like a grounding mat or grounding sheets.
3). Is placing a box lined with aluminum foil over my wifi router at night just as effective as turning it off?
-The box lined with tin foil will help, but a wifi signal is pretty strong. It’s simply safer to have the signal stop transmitting altogether. Having your home tested to see if a aluminum box setup is effective is the only way you’d know for sure 100%. Using a timer to turn of wifi at night while not in use is the safest and most sure recommendation. If that option is not available to you, use the box lined with as many layers of foil as possible, while still having your wifi signal strong enough for your needs.
4). Do you do consultations with individuals regarding EMFs in their homes?
-No matter where you live you can sign up for a Virtual Home Inspection to see exactly what your home needs to be it’s safest.

5). Which EMF tester do you recommend for the home?
-The Trifield Meter 60 Hz 100xe comes highly recommended. It is an easy to use device that can test for AC magnetic fields, AC electric fields and radio/microwaves. You can use this meter to walk around your home and find potential sources of EMFs. This can help you determine if you’d like to set up a virtual home inspection, or tackle a few things on your own.
6). What EMF protection necklace do you recommend?
-The EMF protection necklace Dr. Libby likes to wear is the Q-link. You can find it here.
-If you do not live in the United States, you may be able to purchase the Safe Space VitaPlex Pendant for protection. Please note, Dr. Libby recommends this pendant because it made her feel better when she was sick. However, she is not able to show via testing that it is effective. Her personal opinion is that our own body’s frequencies are positively influced by the Q-link and multiple other healing therapies such as crystals and energy healing work. While these therapies have been reported to help other people as well, Dr. Libby does want to be transparent that at this point this particular device has not proven by current testing methods.
7). What if my close proximity to a Wifi router is something I can’t change (for instance if I live in a dorm room), is there any protective shielding you recommend?
-This wifi router guard is a good item to consider purchasing if don’t have control over the wifi router near you. The guard will not stop the router from working efficiently, but will reduce your EMF load to a certain extent.
-The BEST option at night is a bed canopy. This will block any smart meter signals as well as wifi signals 100% while sleeping. Please note that it is important to set up the bed canopy so that you are not physically touching it while you sleep.
Devices Galore:
1). What product do you recommend to keep us safe from radiation emitting from our cell phones and other devices?
–The R2L Cell Phone Radiation Shield can help protect you and your family from radiation by up to 70%. It’s simple to use, too! Simply stick the R2L on your device in the recommended location and it’ll start working. Dr. Libby recommends using this on all of your devices like ipads and laptops. Please note, if your cell phone is still working, it is still transmitting a potentially harmful signal. Do not use these shields, or any other shields, and assume your cell phone usage is safe. Dr. Libby never recommends letting children play with phones, ipads, or gaming sytsems unless they are in airplane mode, as children are much more susceptible to the effects of electromagnetic radiation.
2). You talk a lot about cell phone usage & using airplane mode but what about FitBit’s and Apple Watches. Are devices with Bluetooth, Data and Wifi Signals safe to wear?
-In general, any device with Bluetooth, wifi and data signaling capabilities will pose a health risk with regards to EMFs, especially if it is worn close to the body. You may, however, be able to put some of these devices in airplane mode to reduce your exposure. Overall, it’s best to limit your usage of these items as much as possible. If you are looking for an alternative that is able to at least track your steps for the day, try using a shoe pedometer that runs on a simple battery. These tend to be very inexpensive, which is a plus! Dr. Libby acknowleges that gathering sleep data can be very heplful for many clients, however if you choose to use the above products to track your sleep cycle, do so temporarily. Try not to use them long term.
Light Bulb FAQs:
1). Are Halogen light bulbs the same as incandescent?
-Yes! As far as EMF safety, it is best to purchase halogen light bulbs and incandescent bulbs.
2). Are LEDs better that compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs?)
– Yes, in general LEDs are better than CFLs. Dr. Libby encourages everyone to remove CFLs from their home immediatley.
Aluminum Foil FAQs:
1). You mention that standing on aluminum foil can help my body discharge from EMFs. Does it matter which side of the aluminum foil (shiny or matte) that I stand on?
-Nope, but you must have skin contact so don’t wear socks. Using aluminum foil at your desk is another great option, however please keep in mind you will need to take additional steps to make any devices you are using at your desk safer. (Filters for desktops, airplane mode for phones, using battery power for laptops).
2). Would I get the same benefits by standing on a cookie sheet/baking tray?
-Tin foil is the only method that we’ve seen to be truly effective. No substitutions!
3). Is standing on the foil once per day enough?
-Yes! Once per day for a few minutes is just fine. We find that making it part of either your morning or evening routine is best so you don’t forget 🙂 For example, Dr. Libby has her son stand on tin foil while brushing his teeth every day.

Using Your Stetzerizer Filters and Meters:
1). How many filters do I need in my home?
-The only way to know is through testing. The average sized home needs 20 filters. Dr. Libby’s home needed 60 filters. That’s how toxic her environment was. The way to determine how many filters you need is by using your Stetzerizer meter to test individual outlets in your home. Dr. Libby recommends you order a bundle of 20 filters. If you don’t need them all you can keep the extra for traveling or for work. If you need a few extra you can order more individually.
2). How do I install filters in my home?
-Using your Stetzer meter, start testing outlets where you have major electronics in your home (TVs, gaming systems, computers, etc). Typically each of those devices will need two filters plugged into their powerstrips. Once you’ve installed filters in those locations you will notice the overall readings in your home are greatly reduced. Next test your bedrooms. Install the needed filters in those locations and then move to your main living spaces. The goal is for all readings to be under 30 G/S units. Any outlet reading above 30 G/S should have a filter plugged in. As you continue to install filters you’ll notice your meter’s overall reading will continue to decrease.
3). Why can’t I just use a whole house filter?
-There are some whole house filters on the market, however Dr. Libby does not recommend them as they do not lessen the impact of major electronics and appliances. Using plasma TVs, gaming systems, and kitchen appliances (just to name a few) creates spikes in dirty electricity, which can only be addressed by using filters where those devices are plugged in.
4). I don’t like that my filters take up an outlet space. What can I do?
– Plugging in an outlet tap is an easy way to ensure you don’t lose any outlet space. Pictured below is the one Dr. Libby uses in her bathrooms and kitchens.
5). There are a few other filters on the market. Can I use those instead?
-Stetzer filters are the only filters Dr. Libby has seen tested to be 100% effective. The creator, Dave Stetzer, has spent millions of dollars in research to create a product that truly helps people. He got into this field when he was called on as an electrical engineer to find out why families and farm animals in his home state of Wisconsin were getting sick. When he discovered the problem he spent years developing an effective solution, the Stetzerizer filters and meter. He speaks internationally on this topic, with a goal of taking the burden off of us, the energy consumers, to fix a problem we didn’t create. Dr. Libby will always recommend his products, as they truly work, and they support someone who is out in the world making real change.
